Bring me Back

This painting has allured me since i created it. The character pines for something from their past. Was it an old version of themselves? Was it love lost? I haven't quite figured it out and I think it's best I don't. I will leave this to the many varied interpretations that can be made. What does this rose represent? Who once held flesh on their bones ? What does this man wait for?
