Flower of Meditation

Throughout this painting there is so much movement and symbolism. Here this figure of a woman emerges from the vibrant electric pool of transformation. A skull comes forth from the bog and out of the eye hole a flower grows. Mushrooms dance all around this landscape of transformative energy representing new growth from the ashes. If you look hard enough you even see a dragonfly dart by.

What inspired this painting ? It has evolved many times over. Its beginnings began at a live painting session. There are elements of it's original essence, but the shapes have taken on far different meaning. In the beginning it started out as a pond, it's central focal point a frog hopping from lily pad to lily pad. The concentric circles are what remains of the lily pads and the colors and movement kept building upon itself and turning into what it is now. It's busy, yet meditative. We are all called to be ourselves. Finding our purpose can be as perplexing as it is clear at times. Many times we wonder if we are on the right path? Or are be bogged down by our fears. Here i contemplated this and so much more. The flower emerging from the skull, the woman emerging from the pools of water, the movement brought forth from the energy of this landscape.........what do you bring forth to the world?
